Heavy Shirts & Bath Water

Heavy Lies The T-shirt
If you’ve noticed your typical t-shirt is getting thicker, even heavier, these days then you are not alone. Some say it’s Jeremy Allen White’s fault for his character in FX’s “The Bear,” some say it’s the Carhart effect, but most importantly it’s about craftsmanship.
A heaver t-shirt usually means better materials and better materials usually means they will last longer. With a building movement against fast fashion and their thinly cheap cotton and poly blends, good old heavy blank t-shirt are taking over and all your favorite brands are climbing on board.
We’re all here for quality and things that last. Our only knock is that finding a good lightweight t-shirt is now getting harder to find. I guess we’ll just have to wait another 10 years until heavy is out and lightweight is in again. Or at least until another famous actor in a hit show makes them cool again.
Brand Highlight
It may be a heatwave over most of the US but some of us can’t lounge in shorts at home during the day and instead need to dress up for the office. Enter Collars and Co.
While they were one of the first to introduce the polo with the collar of a dress shirt (perfect for the shoulders and up Zoom meeting), they’re expanded their lineup to include new sweater polos and even their own sneaker.
Our classic go-to is their Semi Spread Classic Polo in white (goes great under a sweater) but we really like their new Maranello Cotton & Silk Three Button Polo in navy.

Good Man Brand makes a perfect sneaker for the office or a night out with their Edge Lo Top. You used to find them at Nordstrom no problem but the Edge is getting tougher to find these days as new releases take their spot. If you’re size 11.5, do yourself a favor and pickup these NEW IN BOX from ebay. They’re a smooth dark brown that will pair well with jeans and any color shirt.
What we’re listening to right now
Marcus King is getting lots of publicity lately for his vulnerability and openness about his trouble with alcohol on the Bert Kreischer podcast. But aside from his demons, and the fact he wears his hat ridiculously too high on his head, the man has soul you cannot deny.
His new album Mood Swings is a magical combination of southern blues, just enough synth and bass, and Marcus’s sweet sounding voice to set the mood. Give a listen below.
Fin.
Now excuse us while we never take a bath again.
