Best Thing We Saw This Week
Leave it to the best golf magazine out there right now to craft a beautiful interview with the founder of Malbon golf, Stephen Malbon. Whether you like Jason Day’s baggy pants or not, Stephen’s namesake brand is an absolute force in the golf world right now.
The podcast allows us to trace Stephen Malbon’s steps from growing up on a farm in Virginia Beach, to a snow bum in Colorado, to art school in Atlanta, to setting up the first brick and mortar store in LA. Stephen is a tremendously positive guy, with little understanding for all the critics out there who hate more than they appreciate. He is more of a golf nerd than you probably think and is on a mission to keep golf cool so young people don’t stop playing.
Brand Highlight
With pickbleball taking over the world since covid, small athleisure brands are stepping into padel just like they recently have with golf.
One of those newer brands out of Scandanavia is Nordicdots and they have clothing and gear for golf, pickleball, and tennis. In typical Scandanvian fashion, their brand is clean and minimal. We feel very similar energy from Roger Federer’s On.
Honestly it was their Club Socks that caught us first. Very quiet logo and something you could easily wear on the golf course and to the gym. We also like their Performance Long Sleeve in Melon. And they don’t just sell apparel, grab yourself one of their padel or pickleball racquets and stand out on the court.

The resell sneaker market is down, bad
“StockX recently laid off 40 employees, while Stadium Goods faces an uncertain future as Farfetch, its parent company, falls apart. Two European platforms, Restocks and Kikikickz, recently filed for bankruptcy too.“
Then there’s the fact that millennials have other things on their mind now, like kids and mortgage payments. Guys who used to frantically refresh Nike’s SNKRS app for the latest Dunks have moved onto loafers and boots, or more grown-up sneakers from Asics and Salomon. Across the industry, brands that once relied on hyping up armies of young men seem to be struggling — if it’s quiet in sneaker land these days, then you don’t hear so much from Supreme or BAPE either.”

Why are pants so big (again)?
The questions we’ve all been asking ourselves. RIP skinny jeans.

What we’re listening to right now
For anyone who ordered funky basslines for breakfast, your order is served.
Australian duo Two Another was our soundtrack all weekend and we still have the silky vocals playing our heads. If you miss bands like Chromeo, give them a listen.
