This Rollie on My Wrist…

Which one shall I wear today??

Awesome write-up in Robb Report about the current state of the watch market and buying your next timepiece. While the secondary watch market is cooling slightly (prices are down 13%), it’s a great time to invest in a long term option. According to industry vet Matthew Bain (insert Bain voice “you should not have come here!”), try to avoid the fads (cough.. Cartier Tank… cough) and you won’t be disappointed down the road.

Brand Highlight

JJ McCarthy turned heads this past week in his NFL Pro Day from Ann Arbor. The rest of the world is starting to understand what Michigan fans had been so excited about the last 2 years.

Aside from throwing deeeeeep bombs, JJ also turned heads with his signature smiley face on his shirt. After tons of research (e.g. 1 Google search), we found his JJ For The Kids charity which sells smiley apparel and donates all the money to kids charity. What a guy.

We’re assuming Nike (or whichever mega-brand signs him) will likely create a full smiley apparel link for JJ. For now, send that money to the kiddos.

You ain’t rockin’, if you ain’t Crocin’!

Name 2 things more Gen Z than chunky-sole dino-stomper shoes and Crocs, we’ll wait. Actually, we won’t because Crocs is already here with their new Nova Treks. They look like shoes but they’re still make of traditional Crocs foam. Prepare to see all the teens in line at Chipotle rocking these soon.

Your DTC sofa is garbage…

If you recently bought a sofa from an upstart direct-to-consumer brand and it doesn’t feel worth the money, you’re right. Dwell Magazine wrote an interesting dive into why sofas/couches have rapidly degraded in quality the last 15 years. Blame logistics, compressed wood, and Instagram.

Poshmark Find of the Week

Can’t make to Magnolia Lane next week? No problemo. Grab these tumblers from last year and drink up.

What we’re listening to right now

Keeping the synth very much alive this week, and with a very thoughtful rec from Larry O. who put us onto The Midnight, comes a slower jam making us want to grab our leather jackets and drive forever into the sunset. The album art below is a perfect image for the song vibe. Who said the 80’s are dead?

Vroom vroom.
